Brain Dunne

Brain Dunne was destined to become a drummer. The Long Island native explains, "I had two older brothers who played drums, so I was always around it...I really had no choice!" By age ten, young Brian was drumming along with Chaka Khan records. Later, one of his brothers introduced him to jazz and he came to idolize drummers Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, Steve Jordan, "and of course, AWB's Steve Ferrone".

Although he earned a music education degree from Long Island University, Brian has yet to set foot in a classroom. Instead, he has worked steadily in R&B, jazz, and rock for such artists as Alana Davis, J.T. Taylor (of Kool & The Gang), jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb, Michael Brecker, Bob James, Michael Franks, and Spyro-Gyra's Jay Beckenstein. Brian can be heard on the soundtrack of Paramount Picture's Lucky Numbers, and also on TV's Living Single and Rude Awakening. With Alana Davis he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman, and The Rosie O'Donnell Show.
