My dream finally came true the day I walked into the studio to record this CD. Six years ago I met my producer and good friend Chris Hajian. We recorded together many times in his studio. I can still hear him saying, "Be patient, work hard, pay your dues, and it will come". Then, in 1999 while on the road with the national tour of Victor/Victoria, I met a songwriter by the name of Stewart Saint-David. Stewart was the keyboardist for the show, and he had a trunk full of music and a head full of ideas. We began our partnership then and have been writing songs together ever since. In August of 2000 my fianceé Lisa was working in Hong Kong, so I spent a couple of weeks with her. While there, I met "Uncle Ray Cordeiro" of RTHK-Radio Hong Kong. He holds the Guinness world record for being on the air longer than any disc jockey in history. For the first time in 37 years, he invited someone onto his show to sing live. That person was me. I knew then that I was heading in the right direction. As soon as I got back to New York I put the wheels in motion. Being an ex-fighter I thought I knew all there was to know about fear, but previous to this experience in Hong Kong, the idea of making a CD had frightened me. Now I was no longer afraid. I put 5 original songs together with 4 of my favorite cover songs to create this album. Now I can't wait to do it again!
